Schlosberg is working on several film scores, including works-in-progress by Anaiis Cisco, Patrick Wang, and Jon Dickinson.

Schlosberg’s original composition for Kate Tarker’s Montag (premiered at SohoRep in 2022) is nominated for a Drama Desk award for Outstanding Music in a Play.

Oussama Zahr, in his NYT review of Heartbeat Opera’s production of Lady M, describes Schlosberg’s arrangement and music direction of as “flat out brilliant”. 

Working with Tony Kushner as music director, Schlosberg is performing with Ato Blankson-Wood, Paul Dano, Ariana DeBose, Billy Eichner, Linda Lavin, Ben Stiller, and Meryl Streep et al. in A Celebration of John Guare at The 92nd Street Y. 

Schlosberg worked with Tony Kushner on Michelle William’s rendition of the Russian folk song Kalinka in The Fabelmans, Steven Spielberg's semi-autobiographical film loosely based on his adolescence and first years as a filmmaker. The film is released today.

Schlosberg is music directing and performing in Zack Winokur, Justin Vivian Bond, and Anthony Roth Costanzo’s Only an Octive Apart at Wilton’s Music Hall in London. This remount of the show (premiered at St. Ann’s Warehouse in 2021) has a five-week run.

Schlosberg and the creative team is featured on NPR’s All Things Considered to discuss Heartbeat’s production of Beethoven’s FIDELIO, which is on a three-city tour on the West Coast. 

Appearing in the latest Tiny Desk Concert on NPR, Schlosberg is reprising a selection of medleys with collaborators Justin Vivian Bond and Anthony Roth Costanzo from Only an Octive Apart. The show premiered in 2021 at St. Ann’s Warehouse and was remounted at Jazz at Lincoln Center, where Schlosberg performed with the New York Philharmonic and Jaap van Zweden. 

Created by filmmaker Jon Burklund (ZANNI Productions), this 13-minute documentary on THE EXTINCTIONISTHeartbeat’s first-ever commissioned opera with music written by Schlosberg and libretto by Amanda Quaid—is now available on YouTube.

Heartbeat Opera’s visual album BREATHING FREE (music directed and arranged by Schlosberg) has been nominated for a 2021 Drama League Award in the category of Outstanding Digital Concert Production.

Schlosberg and Ethan Heard, Artistic Director of Heartbeat Opera, will be interviewed by Radio OPAC (Ohio Prison Arts Connection) on Facebook Live @ohioprisonartconnection on Heartbeat’s production of Beethoven’s FIDELIO.

COVID cancellation. Later this fall, Schlobserg, along with Heartbeat Opera’s co-director Ethan Heard and students from the Eric H. Holder Initiative for Civil and Political Rights at Columbia University, will be working with six prison choruses in the Midwest—Oakdale Community Choir, KUJI Men’s Chorus, UBUNTU Men’s Chorus, HOPE Thru Harmony Women’s Choir, East Hill Singers, and Voices of Hope—on their performances of O welche Lust from Beethoven’s FIDELIO. Footage will be featured in Heartbeat Opera’s production of FIDELIO at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the fall. 

COVID cancellation. Schlosberg’s arrangement for Beethoven’s FIDELIO will be performed by Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, in a semi-staged production, as part of BSO’s celebration of Marin Alsop in her final season as Music Director. The BSO performances are on 2020.09.25 and 09.26.

Schlosberg will be accompanying Angel Blue for a performance of Donde lieta uscì from Puccini’s La Bohème and other beloved arias at the Decades Ball, hosted by Lapham’s Quarterly. 

Schlosberg’s arrangement for Heartbeat Opera’s production of Beethoven’s FIDELIO is excerpted on France Inter radio program (audio excerpt at 04:08; interview excerpt at 24:54). 

Schlosberg is collaborating with playwright Tony Kushner and director Oskar Eustis on The Public Theater production of A Bright Room Called Day as music consultant. The show opens today and will run through 2019.12.22. 

Heartbeat Opera, of which Schlosberg is a co-music director, has signed with Opus 3 Artists and will begin to tour its productions of CARMEN and FIDELIO nationally with Schlosberg’s arrangements. 

Schlosberg will be appearing alongside Heartbeat Opera’s co-director Ethan Heard as a guest speaker at l’Opéra Comique‘s Fidelio, un « véritable » opéra ? symposium in Paris, France. 

Collaborating with playwright Tony Kushner, director Steven Spielberg, and music director Jeanine Tesori, Schlosberg is the audition, rehearsal, and soundtrack pianist on Spielberg’s West Side Story (2021).
